<p>In March 2006, the people of Haiti prepared to vote in a second round of parliamentary elections. In February, they had elected a new president, Ren&#233; Pr&#233;val. Both votes were delayed by logistical problems and security fears. In this <i>News in Review</i> story we&#8217;ll take a look at Haiti&#8217;s election process. We&#8217;ll also show you why so many of its desperately poor citizens are hoping the election will mean a new start for their troubled land.</p>
